WHO WE ARE
We’re a group of people who believe in the power of better streets and spaces to make towns and cities more successful, healthy and enjoyable for everyone; and we live and work to turn this belief into reality. We thrive on the inherent complexity of urban environments, comfortable with the fact that there’s almost never a single ‘right answer’. We’re transport planners, landscape architects, traffic engineers, and urban designers who know we need to work collaboratively and inclusively to get the best outcomes.
And we’re not just professionals who make recommendations, we’re articulate and effective advocates for change; knowing that even the best ideas need the support of convincing arguments.
WHAT WE DO
We make better towns and cities for people through shaping streets and public spaces; and our portfolio is full of examples of built projects where our strategy and design work has had this effect: in town and city centres; in high streets; at busy stations and interchanges; and in local centres and public spaces.
We have a strong track record in transport and public realm strategies, design guidance documents, transport assessments, movement masterplans, SuDS, and street design-related research commissions; and we work with politicians, council officers, communities and developers to help deliver some of the most important yet challenging and controversial transport and planning policies.
Driven by environmental, public health, placemaking and economic priorities, everything we do seeks to make walking, cycling, public transport, and spending time more attractive; and to minimise the need for private car travel in urban areas. We innovate yet still deliver, always seeking better ways of approaching conventional tasks; and we work creatively across our different areas of expertise to ensure our work best meets the needs of those it’s meant to benefit.
