Canada Water Masterplan  |  British Land

British Land’s masterplan for the 53 acres at the heart of Canada Water features 3,000 new homes, around 185,000sqm of sustainable workspace, a new high street and numerous other amenities and public spaces. When they needed specialists to lead the design of that new high street, UM were recommended by members of their established professional team. Leading a sub-group of that team, and working very closely with the client, we developed the brief, undertook a multi-criteria analysis of a wide range of possible precedents, and assessed the traffic management implications of different options. This has produced a clear, people-friendly concept that allows early enabling work to be delivered while further work on the development mix is in hand.
