Urban Movement is an award-winning public realm and transport design practice, working to balance movement and place, to create better streets, public spaces and transport systems for people, place, and planet.
We’re an inter-disciplinary practice of urban designers, transport planners, landscape architects, and traffic engineers and our working methods and practices ensure this inter-disciplinary collaboration on all our projects, to maximise the value of the public realm in addressing the challenges we face.
We thrive on the inherent complexity of urban environments, specialising in research, planning, strategy and the design of transport networks, streets and complex public realm. Our work is Mission-led and through it we aim to deliver a public good in the pursuit of social justice.
We’re not just professionals who make recommendations and design proposals, we’re articulate and effective advocates for change; knowing that even the best ideas need the support of convincing arguments. We are experienced design advisers to towns and cities across the UK and are increasingly asked to work with politicians, council officers, communities and developers to bridge the gap between policy and action in relation to some of the most pressing yet controversial transport and planning priorities.
Urban Movement has been working collaboratively to deliver urban design and transport projects in the public realm since 2011, all the time enabling people to walk, cycle, and use public transport more; as well as creating places where people choose to be - places, that people identify with.
